I’ve got a few projects going on these days, one of which is to pass the MCTS – 70-515 Web Applications in .Net 4.0 certifcation next week. And with work, bridge and Champions League football, who has time for anything else?
Oh and it’s cold! wind-chill should bring it to a perceived -15°C …. brr..

So it's been a while. Haven't had much to say.
One notable thing though: I've switched hosting service, meant a bit of grief while moving and upgrading the software, but all in all it should be at a 100% now.
Leah's blog has attracted a bit of attention lately, probably because of the keyword Bahrain, so her posts have shown up in a lot of searches attracting comment-spammers. Comment spam is a rather benign kind spam; it's pretty much just some-one leaving a comment and attaching a website reference. The posts had 2-3000 comments, which also meant that loading the blog took forever, and in some instances killed the webservice (memory consumption skyrockets, hosting service process shuts down temporarily to defend it self from a attack and/or poor code). I managed to clean up all her posts (20.000 comments or so) and disable further comments, so it should be contained for now.
Oh, and we went to Cuba. I'll make a post about that with some pictures :o)

The origin of names of the numbers 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 in Danish
http://www.berlingske.dk/forside/artikel:aid=917950In English it's pretty straightforward, but Danish is another matter. 50 is pronounced using the Danish words 'half','three','twenty' in a sort of strung-toggether fashion whereas 40 resembles the English word (4 tens).
Kinda geeky I guess, but I make no pretence not to be one :o)

Whee! Yesterday i was graduated to the green belt. Nice little exercise that one, including an insanely difficult kick (turning horizontal circle kick :-S), but I managed - and I remembered the previous two forms and managed 50 sit-ups and 10 push-ups on finger tips .. after 1½ hours of training, mind you.
I felt somewhat bruised after that, felt a strain in the left thigh, which has me a little worried. I think I'll hold the kicking to a minimum the next couple of days.
But not lying still though :o). I'm going to an introductory Aikido lesson today. I've been wanting to try it out for a while now - we do a little Aikido on Saturdays as part of the self-defense bit, and I find it quite useful. Also, I've been sort of at a stand-still at Kung-Fu, and my groin has been acting up lately, so I'm considering taking a break from the Kung-fu, if the Aikido-thing is as good as I hope.
On another note, I'm about to sell my part of the apartment to Kimie and buy Leah and Carsten's apartment on Frederiksberg. It's a little larger, better kitchen, larger livingroom, closer to work and overall an upgrade over my present living quarters.
The sale should take effect July 1st, and I'll be a tenant of Kimie's until I can move into my new place - hopefully sometime in August, but we'll see.

Literally. I went 9 hours ahead in time (which took 15 hours in total) and touched down in Kastrup Tuesday afternoon at around 1 PM. The flight was sort of boring, and sadly I didn't get an upgrade to Economy Flex, which meant that I got crammed into a much smaller seat which shared arm rest with the seat next to me - occupied by an American woman of ... well, large proportions.
So I didn't get to sleep, but just sitting with eyes closed listening to a little music did me good. I opted not to go to sleep when I came home and by the time I got to bed, it was almost 2PM, West Coast Time (so, something like 29 hours since i last slept). 7 uneasy hours of sleep later it was back to work.
Now, I didn't get hit by jet lag on the way out (no, Kianna, I just sleep a lot whenever I can!), and today, the second day, I don't feel that I've been hit by it .. but they say it's the 2nd or 3rd day, you get hit and it should be worse going West to East, so maybe I'll get lucky :oP
All in all, I had a great time in the US. It was very nice to spend time with Jesper and his family, and I got to see a very beautiful part of America, that I hope to see again - and soon.
