The other day Christina and I swung by Frederiksberg Garden. Copenhagen Zoo borders this pretty piece of green in the center of Copenhagen, and the new elephant house is actually opened up  into the park (well, baring a moat, some electrical wiring and a 4-feet fence) which is great if you want to see the Elephants but just don’t feel like emptying your wallet to do so.

This old girl had a little fun spraying water at some of the birds that were poking around the balls of dung. I know – it’s common to attribute animals human traits - but I swear that big beast was grinning. And just look at the baby-heffalump here

Unfortunately I didn’t get to capture the head-first dive into the moat by the calf, but you can just see how much fun it’s having. The moat is pretty deep by the way, deep enough for the elephants to submerge fully. Which they seemed to enjoy doing.
